CINCO DE MAYO PARADE AND FESTIVAL 2008

 The Fruitvale district of Oakland will come alive with families, community members and people from all walks of life to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! The holiday of Cinco de Mayo, The Fifth of May, commemorates the victory of Mexicans over the French army at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
The festival will feature 5 stages of entertainment, 200 vendors, plenty of food, children's activities and arts & crafts. The Festival & Parade is hosted by the Asociacion de Comerciantes Profesionals de Oakland – ACPO. This is a traditional celebration that attracts an ethnically-diversed family-oriented audience.
